Random Crap

Tiny Tim climbed about ten feet high in the oak tree today. All the kittens are starting to climb trees and bushes. Two of them were in the lilac bosh this afternoon, bending the slender branches until I thought they might snap. Kittens have their own ideas about landscaping. They all still follow me around the yard when I water it, too. After I get a patch wet, they go inspect it.

Tim is always the leader of the group. The other two are now willing to get closer to me since they've seen Timmy untie my shoelaces so many times. I fear it won't be long before I'll have a kitten working at each shoe very time I go out. If I fall down and break my neck, you'll know who to blame.

The current heat wave will last several more days. The nights are remaining fairly warm, too, so the house never cools off completely. There's also more humidity than we usually get in summer, so sleeping has gotten very uncomfortable. I almost resorted to air conditioning today, but the thought of the power bill dissuaded me.

July will end with a new moon. It would be a good night to watch stars. There could be early meteors from the Perseid shower which, unfortunately, will peak around the 13th, when the moon will be full. I might hang out in the back yard for a bit tonight. I'll have to keep a close eye on my shoes, though.
