Balmy

The dogwoods are blooming and growing lots of new leaves at the same time. Usually the leaves lag behind the blossoms by several days, and the trees will be entirely white or pink before any green appears. The blossoms must have been delayed by the chilly weather, so this year we get nothing but two-tone trees. But after such an uncommonly cold April, I'm just glad to see the trees flower at all. I'm not so glad to see those puffs of pollen coming off the fruitless mulberry tree, though. I don't dare open my window until that has stopped, though the day is so pleasantly mild.

It took forever to log in to LJ today, and now this is taking forever to post. My dinner is already long delayed, and I can feel my blood sugar plummeting.
