It was clear enough to watch the almost-full moon rise tonight. Gauzy clouds were spreading its light, so the whole east glowed, but the clouds have gradually thickened and now the sky has grown dim. There is a scent of approaching rain. The air is still, the trees silent. I imagine insects crawling about in the lawn, listening to the blades of grass grow.
