Vanishing Acts

The snow was very pretty early this morning while it was clinging to the trees and shrubs, outlining every bare twig. Then the falling snow turned to rain, stripping the frosted branches and washing the pavements black. Only the buried lawns remained white. Intermittent rain continues, and all the snow will probably vanish soon. January will vanish soon, too, just as December did. It feels like somebody is flooring time. Everything passes in a blur. Goodbye, December. Goodbye, snow. Goodbye, New Year's Day. Another door hits my arse.
