Waiting hours for the rain, gray afternoon passing, the feral cats nowhere in sight. Night fell and still no rain, though the cats finally came for a snack, then vanished. More hours with barely a stir in the air, and then finally a few drops as midnight neared. It's supposed to be hard rain and lots of wind, but it's sure taking its time getting here.

Uh oh, it's going to be Tuesday the 13th. Maybe I should be careful what I wish for.
