Catawampus Clock Made Me Miss Midnight.

It's too bothersome to tell what time it is with the clock's hour hand out of place. Here I am making my Thursday post on Friday. Stupid clock. Well, the clock must be at least forty years old and has served me well, so I'm really more sad than angry at its partial demise. It's been so long that I can't remember just when I bought it. They don't make them anymore. The replacement will probably have to be digital. There are still analog clocks, but not with alarms unless you want one of those retro wind-ups, which I don't like. I forget to wind them.

I might be coming down with a cold. If so, it will be the first in many years. I'm taking stuff to fend it off, but the pre-cold symptoms have been persisting since last night. This is not a good time to have a cold. There's too much stuff that needs to be done.

The weather will be getting a cold whether I do or not. A mild weekend will be followed by clouds and chill air by Monday, and there could be rain on Tuesday. In fact there could be lots of rain coming. I'll be glad to get some rain, but don't relish the thought of cold. I do hope this won't be one of those short autumns. Summer held on for so long, if winter pushes its way into October there'll have been no fall to speak of.
