I ask for clouds and they appear. My power is great! At least it is when I ask for clouds on September 1, 2009. Other times when I ask for stuff I usually get diddly. For example I've asked for the cicadas to shut up several times tonight, and they're still buzzing just outside my windows, though it seems like they're inside my head. They are even more annoying than the whistling bird next door.

I'm also a bit annoyed with myself because I missed the Perseid meteor shower this year. It peaked way back on August 12 and 13, and I only realized it last night. This was supposed to have been a good year for them, too, since the moon wasn't going to interfere with them for much of the night. I guess I need e-mail reminders of meteor showers. I'm going to try to remember the upcoming Orionids, October 21 and 22, the Leonids, November 17 and 18, and the Geminids, peaking December 13 and 14— though it's probably going to be pretty cold in December, and could be cloudy as well. I don't suppose it would do any good to ask for no clouds around that time.

Ah, those cicadas are driving me batty and I can't concentrate. Time to shower. At least I won't be able to hear them with the water running.
