Wednesday Dumps On Thursday

There are hardly any stars visible tonight. Either the solar system and a few nearby stars have fallen out of the universe, a monstrous black hole is consuming most of the universe, or clouds have come in. The latter is most likely, but the other two would be more interesting. There weren't any clouds predicted for tonight, though, so I can't rule out The End Of All Things as an explanation. I would like to have had another good watermelon before ceasing to exist, but it's too late to go to the store. Drat. Jut my luck.

There were a couple of nights when the air brought no smell of smoke, but the breeze has shifted and the whole town smells like a fireplace. There's something disconcerting about the smell of wood smoke on such a balmy evening.

This was written two hours ago but I got interrupted and totally forgot to finish it and post it. Now I can't remember what else I was going to say. Gah, one o'clock in the morning.
