Sultry

Striped cat and her kittens took over the back porch all night last night. Poor black and white kitty, who is still still here, isn't getting much attention now. She stays out front, and I only go out there a couple of times a night because it's so much more difficult to keep her from getting in the front door than the back door. And I don't go out back at all because the kittens scatter like leaves in a wind when they see me. I'm cat trapped!

But the kitties leave me my territory by day. The stripped cat spent most of this afternoon on the other side of the jasmine hedge. I guess it's cooler out there. The jasmine scent has grown strong, and wafts through the house so I have no need to go outside to enjoy it.

But the aged parents are keeping me busier than usual, so I wouldn't have as much time to go out even were I not trapped by cats or appeased by the drifting scent of jasmine. Things could be better, things could be worse.
