The frogs sound happy about getting another day of rain. It certainly made me happy. That several partly cloudy days are to come is also pleasing. Put off that solar death ray as long as possible. I'm not eager to see things dry out, and a bit of shade isn't going to prevent anything from blooming— just slow it down a bit. The camellias are already lasting longer than they do in many years. The peach tree has begun to bloom, very gradually. I wouldn't mind seeing spring stretch into July, if that could be arranged. The shorter the fire season, the better.

Going out to listen to the frogs now.
