Dry [Mar. 10th, 2009|10:40 pm]

I'm seriously considering ripping out the front lawn and replacing it with sedums (aka stonecrops) and other drought-tolerant plants. There are only a couple of sedum varieties native to the region, but several non-natives will grow well enough. Some of them have nice little flowers, too. The California Native Plant Exchange has goatloads of information about plants. I'll probably be spending a lot of time on their web site, trying to figure out what would work best here.

Didn't see the gray kitty today, but some of the dry food it gone. A blue jay was at it this afternoon, but I don't think a bird could have eaten as much as is missing. I'll keep looking for him tonight. If he shows up, there's another can of soft food for him.
