Birds entertained me for a while this afternoon. They like to find leaves in the flower beds and toss them aside to get at anything edible that might be under them. They had a couple of sunny hours for their feast, and then the day turned gray. I expected rain all evening, but sprinkles only began falling a short time ago. The cool air is barely stirring. March, it appears, will come in like a house cat this year, if one that's a bit damp. What it will go out like is anybody's guess.

I just made myself think of lamb chops. Lamb chops made me think of parsnips. Mmm, parsnips. Maybe some parsnip soup before the weather turns hot.
