Used to be Lincoln's Birthday when I was a kid

The gray kitty finally turned up late this afternoon and ate something. He didn't eat much, so he must not have been very hungry. I don't know if his lack of hunger after an absence of a few days indicates that he's been sick, or that he's found another place to cadge food. At least now I know he's still around and eating something.

The clouds were splendid today, as was the intermittent sunshine. Loads of birds were out (a blue jay even got bold enough to steal some of the cat food) and I saw a couple of squirrels frolic in the trees. Tomorrow there is not only a near-certainty of more rain, but there could even be thunderstorms. I insist that thunder not wake me up. Insist!

Hope everybody had a nice Darwin Day. I tried evolving, in commemoration, but I think it's too late for me. I ought to have done it when I was a zygote.
