A gray afternoon resounded with bird calls and the clatter of woodpeckers drilling. The gray cat napped by the fence despite the lack of sunlight. It hasn't gotten as cold as I expected. This evening, soft rain began to fall. The best news is that we may get as much as three inches of rain, which won't cover the deficit so far this season, but will be a good start on catching up. The moss will no longer be brown and dry, and lush green moss is something we need in winter, adding as it does a touch of luxury to the landscape.
Thanks for the improvement in the weather, Mr. President.
