Owie and Compensation

Squirrel antics continue to provide me with afternoon entertainment. Today a pair of them got into a chase up and down the trees, with much chattering and some shredding of pine bark. I just missed getting beaned by a pine cone one of them knocked down. The hazards of semi-rural life. But I didn't get to watch them for long, as I had to go get my head yanked again. Usually the adjustments aren't too bad, but today's has left me feeling sore and tired. And the aftermath is usually worse the next day, so I could feel crappier tomorrow. Feh.

Well, it's not just the LOC, the Smithsonian, and George Eastman House posting public domain photos to Flickr now. They have launched The Commons, for a whole slew of public and private institutions which now have Flickr accounts. Among them are the Australian Powerhouse Museum and State Library of New South Wales; the UK based National Media Museum and National Maritime Museum; and The Brooklyn Museum in New York and the Library of Virginia. There are also outfits from France, Portugal, and Canada contributing public domain photostreams now. The number of institutions participating is expected to grow. I can hardly wait (or keep up, most likely.)
