Fried Day

Friday. Library of Congress photostream eating my time again. I didn't even spend more than a few minutes with the friendly front-yard cat who came to visit, and got no reading of Jane Austen done.

Outside, it's now almost chilly enough to justify wearing a hoodie when I go out. I don't think I will, though. This will be my first chance in months to shiver by moonlight.

Oh, and the new version of Opera I installed the other day has restored my ability to peruse the full previews at Google Books, which I lost a few weeks ago. It comes in handy when digging up information about the various once-famous people whose photos the LOC posts to Flickr.

Goodbye, Galveston. Probably the place in Texas I'd have liked most, if I'd ever seen it. Now maybe there'll be nothing left there to be seen. Video of early stages of flooding here. It looks like it's going to be bad. Again. The storm last time.
