I hear a cricket in my yard tonight. It's the first cricket to come so close this year. Tomorrow there might be a thunderstorm. If so, it will be the first electrical storm of the spring. If I were to get drunk tonight, it would be my first drunk of the year. In fact, it would be my first drunk in many years. It might be an improvement. Lately I've stumbled about in a fog while entirely sober. It seems such a waste when I could be stumbling around in a fog drunk.

I've gotten an announcement of another (definitely not a first) high school class reunion. Maybe that's what put the thought of getting drunk in my head. The number of it makes me want to abandon sobriety forever.

Though the mulberry tree looks to be done with its pollinating for the year, and the pines have yet to begin, something is arousing my allergies. Despite the sneezing and runny nose, I went for along walk in the back yard this evening. It still smells pleasantly of rain damp. Funny I can smell rain damp even when my nose is stuffed up. Something to be grateful for, at least.
