Dampened

Gray evening darkened and soft rain began to fall. It was inaudible from within the house, but I could smell it on the chilly draft which invaded my barely-open window. The rain has been intermittent so far, and the gibbous moon manages now and then to peek through the drifting clouds. This state may continue throughout the night. If so, I'll probably get nothing done because I won't be able to resist the desire to go out and watch it. It's been a long time since the last cloudy moonlit night. I've missed them.
