The next door neighbors with the obnoxious dog have visitors who have parked an enormous trailer in the driveway, blocking my view down the street. They are currently draining something from it. I hope it isn't septic. I suppose they'll be here all weekend, and maybe longer. I think they brought another dog with them, too, as I've heard a new bark. Portia is not pleased. The trailer blocks the view from her favorite window, too, and she puts her ears back when she hears the new bark. There is also an odd smell in the air. I don't know if it comes from the trailer or if somebody is burning bad wood in a fireplace nearby.|
Aside from the odd smell, the day is nice enough. It actually got up to 67 degrees this afternoon. Because I'm only heating the house to 64 degrees, I opened the windows. It lets the odd smell in, but it has also warmed the house slightly. It stayed warmer outside all afternoon, so that's where I spent most of my time. It's about time to close the windows now because the evening is going to be chilly, but it will be warmer tomorrow.
It's also time to start baking the potato I'm going to eat with my dead fish. There was a bargain on small containers of sour cream at the store this week, so it's going to be a luxury potato. Most of the time they only have bargains on the big containers, but I can never finish a big container of sour cream before it starts to go bad, so my baked potatoes usually have only butter on them. Tonight I get both. It's the highlight of my week.
I know. What a dull life I'm leading.
