Wetting Day [Mar. 29th, 2010|11:09 pm]
rejectomorph
A noon like dusk passed as breeze-blown mist made birds alight and shake the water from their feathers. Fresh oak leaves of pale green fluttered and the pines hummed. Despite the darkening overcast the frogs waited for evening itself to arrive before beginning their song. They've been singing it for hours now, as the night is not much chillier than the day was.

A proper rain has yet to fall, but the slow storms are expected to take at least five days to depart, so there's plenty of time for a decent downpour. I'll be content if it turns out to be no more than a few hours of drizzle now and then, though. Keeping the ground wettish is all that's needed for spring's verdure to flourish.
